Green light for LSE’s Global Centre for Social Sciences
24 March 2015
More positive news for Midtown as the Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners design for the new Global Centre for Social Sciences at the London School of Economics was given the green light by planners.
This follows the news a few weeks ago that the LSE’s Saw Swee Hock Student Centre had been shortlisted for the Mies van der Rohe Prize - Europe’s pre-eminent architecture award and provides further evidence that Midtown is becoming home to world class design.
Iconic design and architecture provide tangible evidence that Midtown has moved on from the lazy stereotype as being a characterless zone, somewhere between the City and West End.
Innovative design has helped drive Midtown’s renaissance as a location of choice for younger, creative businesses and further projects of this nature are most welcome.
