Alistair Subba Row - appointed Chairman of the newly established Fleet Street Quarter Partnership
8 February 2021
Alistair Subba Row, Senior Partner of Farebrother, has been appointed Chairman of the newly established Fleet Street Quarter Partnership with Svetlana Nogai from Westminster RE as deputy Chair. Former Chairman Tom Sleigh from the Corporation of London remains on the Board.
The Fleet Street Quarter Partnership is the final piece of the Centre of London stakeholders jigsaw puzzle for Subba Row. For over 20 years he has been part of the establishment to drive local business groups including The Midtown Business Club, The Chancery Lane Association, and The Northbank, Midtown and Hatton Garden Business Improvement Districts. The Fleet Street Quarter Partnership has been established to consult with local stakeholders and to support the local business community. Working alongside the City Corporation, the new Partnership aims to become a Business Improvement District by early 2022 following the creation of the Cheapside Alliance and the Aldgate Partnership in the square mile. The plan is to drive economic growth, inspire development, create better public realm and play a pivotal role in the safe return to work for the area’s diverse business community.
Alistair Subba Row said:
“I have been a local occupier for over 30 years and our firm, Farebrother, started in Fleet Street 222 years ago. In recent times most of the area’s iconic “National Newspaper buildings” , including the Daily Express and Daily Telegraph, have been occupied by large organisations, predominantly using internal facilities. These occupiers have now relocated providing the property owners with exciting refurbishment and development opportunities. Over the next few months the Partnership will engage widely to consult on the future needs for this historic part of Central London. The aim is to create an exciting vision for the area and make the Fleet Street Quarter the best place to live work play and visit inside the Capital."
The Fleet Street Quarter Partnership is supported by key local stakeholders including Farebrother, Landsec, The Corporation of London, Westminster RE, CO-RE, DWS, Memery Crystal, Deloitte, Hoare’s Bank, Daniel Watney and CBRE.
