WeWork signs for twelfth London centre
WeWork has signed a 62,000 sq ft letting at Aldwych House, in London’s Midtown.
The building becomes the US co-working firm’s twelfth location in the capital and is the first announced since the firm said it would look to open in 10 new locations by the end of 2017.
GI Partners in conjunction with Rowan Strategic Asset Management has secured a 20-year lease with the firm which will occupy four floors and open in the summer of 2017.
WeWork’s Patrick Nelson, head of space in Europe, said: “We are really delighted to create a new hub, in this unique and impressive building, a stone’s throw from Covent Garden. WeWork love it.”
Brad Altberger, managing director of GI Partners, added: “We are delighted WeWork continues to demonstrate confidence in the London market by launching its newest flagship location at Aldwych House.”
WeWork will be joining Wasserman Media Group, Imagen/Boosey & Hawkes, Fenwick Elliot, the LSE and Japanese restaurant Roka at the 174,000 sq ft building.
Aldwych House is now 75% let and has 45,000 sq ft of newly refurbished grade A office space available for let.
GI Partners acquired Aldwych House in partnership with Rowan Strategic Asset Management and Taurus in December 2011.
CBRE and Farebrother acted for Aldwych House.
